		Our Gracy opened her counter of trophies by winning the best newcomer prize in two of the major award ceremonies held early in 2002. After all with her promising portrayal as an innocent village belle in Lagaan and arguably the best classical dance talents in Bollywood today the judges could have almost voted with their eyes closed! But as humble and innocent as she is, Gracy has not been phased by her new recognition. Soon after winning the best newcomer prize for her role in Lagaan at the Star Screen Awards 2002, Gracy expressed her excitement: "Was I expecting to win this award? No way! This being my first film, all I was expecting was a creditable debut. The film's surpassed all my expectations. This award, especially, has been a bonus". With such a promising debut, Gracy fans, film goers and film critics are likely to be in for more fabled performances that are likely to be cherished by the current and future generations.
